About our guest speaker's remarks: At the end of the 19th century, the United States experienced a tremendous transformation in its international standing. Having subdued the continent, the US began to emerge as an important player on the international stage. Our 2026 speaker will examine one of the central acts in this drama-our brief 1898 war with Spain - a conflict that would extinguish one empire while giving birth to another.
Registration: The cost is $20 per person and guests are welcomed. Registrations must be confirmed no later than October 14th. Please indicate your attendance by returning your reservation to the MHSM Events Coordinator, 7 Batchelder Road, Marblehead, MA 01945-1524.
